Living in beautiful Colorado bends our clients interest toward wanting to see mountains, fields, streams and flowers. While the mountains are always a welcome sight (and a key reason we live in Colorado Springs - can't imagine not seeing Pikes Peak every winter capped in snow), we still love getting asked to shoot downtown. What makes photographing in downtown Colorado Springs exciting is how much beauty a short walk will yield. We usually get off at the Bijou exit and just look for a place to park. Monument Valley Park stretches creek-side right next to down town, which makes a great backup plan too. From just about anywhere we land we can get to half a dozen great spots, just a minutes walk from each-other, and if the couple is up for it another few minutes walk will offer up even more locations to photograph. Options include graffiti, beautifully colored walls and windows, brick, rain puddles (yes we have rain here, on occasion), lavender, a fire-station, churches and ally-ways. Downtown makes creativity come easily. Often couples use their engagement pics as save the dates, so adding the flare of white balloons was a nice pop (with their sign) to the evening.
