This is a favorite bridal portrait from a wedding at the beautiful Mt Princeton resort in Nathrop, Colorado.
This wedding day was a small miracle; when we arrived at the venue it had been raining in the mountains all morning. The ceremony was scheduled to be outside down in the meadow, but unfortunately the coordinator had to make the call to move the ceremony inside to the reception hall due to the rain. The bride and groom were a little disappointed but still maintained a great attitude.
The rain cleared as they said their vows, and we were able to hop in the car and drive to a road with a perfect view of Mt Princeton. As we started the bride and groom portraits, the rain and wind completely calmed down and the clouds cleared over the mountain peak. The sun even came out for a few minutes to give this happy newlywed couple some gorgeous wedding images!
I love this image and the way you can actually see the breeze moving through the bride's hair and bouquet. The clouds had started to come back over Mt Princeton at this point but it was still absolutely picture perfect.
Mt Princeton resort in Nathrop, Colorado is a beautiful place to get married. Only two hours from Colorado Springs, it's a nice alternative to some other mountain venues like Vail, Aspen, or Breckenridge that are further away for guests traveling from the Springs.
